Really sorry for being missing for so long.... don't seem to have things to say.... but it's a new year! Must write and update more =D
Talking about chinese new year, everybody sure thinks about yu sang right? But the usual ones that is eaten is the salmon type. Introducing true teow cheow yu sang! My grandfather and his sons go to the market early in the morning to choose the fish (still swimming then) and after slaughering, they bring the fish back and slice it.... really fresh fish...
Just a bit of vegetables and lots of fish...... the thing is the pink basket is fish skin... i think the picture only had half of the total amount of fish and that's all the vegie....
Aside from that, this chef has been moving up the stream.... I've been gardening hehe..... cucumbers, spring onions, tomatoes and flowers! But so far only the cucumber plant has produce... i'll take pictures of the rest later on.... the zinnias just starting to flower....

Chuchumber!!!!This chef has also been rather accident prone..... that day stabbed her arm with a traditional can opener.... lol strange but true... this is how it happened... people use right hand to open and so the blade is facing away from the person using the tool right? well being a left hander, the blade is facing towards me.... as i was opening the can, my sister called me and i looked up... at that point the can opener slipped away from the can and into my arm.... surprisingly it did not bleed much though it was quite deep (i know for sure now that i can never be a doctor.... felt faint looking at the wound =D)

teochew yu sang?? I, being a teochew for 22 years also nvr hear of it.. i tot only uncooked salmon that can be eaten.. other uncooked also can be eaten?? be aware of vibrio parahaemolyticus which is present in raw fish and it can cause EXPLOSIVE watery diarrhoea.. if u dun wan ur toilet bowl pecah, better avoid it..

teochew is known for their fondness for fish... true teochew anyway.... a lot of uncooked salmon can be eaten... go check japanese food =D
Well i guess my family is used to eating this type of fish so immuned to the vibrio thing.... then again, the fish is slaughtered and eaten fresh so the count may be too low to cause any harm.... anyway i did not eat much :) i still like my salmon more....
