Hello!!!
It's been forever since I've posted... so sorry! But now I have to tell everyone! Hehe... as the title implies.... I've joined my first culinary competition!! It was rather a shock... my participation with another 2 course mates was only confirmed the day before the competition because they needed another team as one team pulled out...
So with only one cooking class in our pockets we entered the competition in a blur... when in the kitchen we realised... oh no... we only learned to deep fry, stir fry and grilling (ONCE!).... worse still, we saw the other teams bringing in boxes of specialised equipments and all we have is whatever the organiser provided (this was during UPM's Food Fair)...
As the competition went on, we got more and more nervous because our dish was relatively simple, while the other groups (the one in front of me and beside me anyway) looks so professional, arranged beautifully and with unique plates... we only used round plates at first...
Then we found out we have to present the food and talk about the concept... we just went in blind... no ideas no concept... and the guy who wanted his way for most of the dishes has no input to how to describe the food... and yes I was the one presenting the food... so i bluffed my way through... had some help from the senior group though... really grateful for that, at least had something to work on...
So well basically that is it... I'll be puting the photos up in my blog later on... still have yet to get my hands on it =D oh yeah in case u are wondering, we got 5th place... the last place with prize...

They gave u fifth place because thet were thankful that u showed ur mercy by not poisoning them to death..

Thanks ben, there was actually only 8 goups =D but yeah we were kinda surprised we got a prize at all hehe
Chu! I mana ada poison ppl with food before?? Next time party i don't let u eat anything!
Jino i'm not last....it's the last placing with a prize, there's a total of 8 groups.
