Hi everyone!!!
Just realised what a long time since i have written anything so i will update you guys on my latest escapade... before disappearing again under books and assignments... but fear not!! Once finals are over and done with.... it's time to party!!!
Now... confession time... i skipped 3 days of uni.... to go genting for family hols :) my mom won 3rd prize for a competition by carefour. The prize was a 3 day, 2 night trip to genting with 2 tickets to 'dreamz' show, 2 all park tickets and some vouchers for food and entertainment.
The first night we went for the show.... first class!! sat behind the vip sittings... there was 2 forigners (whom i saw at least twice after the show during the trip. The show was amazing!!! It is like a magic show... or rather illusionalist show... the part i love the most is when the guy makes a girl appear in mid air... you know the trick where magicians makes a girl float up then put a hula hoop around her to show that there's no strings? Well this time, the illusionalist holds up a cloth and when he drops it, a girl appears floating in mid air!!!
Then there was appearance of a pair of cute fluffy doggies, a tiger, a white tiger and a white lion with the disappearance of assitants. By the way.... arnt' white tigers supposed to be protected? Are they allowed to be used as show animals? This part was not so pleasing... they look agitated and irritated.
The next day we went for buffet lunch at coffee terrace (supposed to be the grandest buffet in genting... since we got free vouchers, we can splash!) The food was not bad i guess... but the japanese part did not even have salmon :( how sad is that? The western part only has one spaghetti and no lamb. The desserts were very colourful though. But i'm not a fan of those either hehe. But at least their asam laksa was good (i finally found one good asam laksa and it's so out of reach....) and i have new inspiration for a potato dish! I'll let you guys try once i get it right...
That evening (thursday night, chap goh mei) we watched fireworks and firecracker lighting. They had almost 20 long long LONG strings of firecrackers. And the fireworks was magnificent. sorry ben... did not bring the camera :) anyway those bigger ones did not work out very well because it was very misty.
The rest of the trip was spent sleeping, walking, and playing at the indoor arcade (I caught a pink bear!). Did not go outdoor because my bro was not feeling well... besides, i'm not a fan of roller coaster anymore... blame it on 'rolling thunder mine train'. Ever since that ride i have yet to sit another roller coaster other then a very mild one.
Ok that's all the time i have for now... need to prepare power point presentation... next time i might post some pictures of me in a santarina suit (thanks li ling for finding it for me and phak hoe for lending me the hat)
Love,
Valerie
P/s - the weird part of the trip is that i don't feel like i was away from the uni at all... because i'm the connection person between the class rep and my coursemates in the same hostel, i kept having to send messages between the 2 groups as they were trying to plan a replacement class...
