Options for the Trip next year

Hello all,
Some food for thought, please take a minute or two off your busy schedule and ponder upon this update.
Ok, so we've got a few kind people filling up the spreadsheet for this trip, and the preliminary consensus i can draw from it would be a sun and beach getaway. Therefore to make the best out of this trip i would suggest an early planning to avoid disappointment. As a matter of fact, its best that we can agree on at least the destination preferably before Xmas 2010.
Here's 1 of the beautiful beaches around Malaysia.

1) Pulau Rawa - A rocky island hidden just off the Johorian coast, Mersing. All boats bound for this little island leaves Mersing every 2 hours from 0930 - 1730 thus it would be a chaotic morning if we were to aim for the first ferry. Anyhow, about the island, there are 2 choices of accomodation the concrete rooms offered by a resort and an exiciting stay in huts.

Things to do
- Kayaking, Snorkelling, Scuba Diving, Fishing, Hiking, Island hopping, Wind Surfing, Snooker, Badminton
- As mentioned above, the hut accomodation offers a very private getaway (only 6 huts and a private beach)

Cost
- This section would differ depending on the number of pax/room
- Ranging from RM 110/pax/night TO RM 150/pax/night

Food
- Not much to choose from as there is only ONE restaurant on the island, but i would say we can BBQ and have our very own campfire on the beach right?
- A pub for those crazy happy hour before you hit the sack.

Option 2), 3) and 4) - Pulau Tinggi, Sibu, and Pemanggil are all islands on the East coast of Peninsular Malaysia. I beg to digress as I highly recommend these places because of the Monsoon-free-season; judging from the spreadsheet at first glance as most of us are free from the month of May til June or July so it is the best time to head East. Anyway back to these 3 islands they are very much similar to Pulau Rawa but below are some standouts offered by the individual islands.

2) Pulau Tinggi - 45mins - 1hr boat ride from Mersing Jetty, and similarly has 2 choices for accomodation.But because this is a bigger island with more tourist/area therefore its not as quiet compared to Rawa, besides that this island has a 2,000 ft (610m) mountain which gives the island its name and to those who likes a good hike to the waterfall, this is ideal for your morning activity.

Cost - It is slightly cheaper here due as the rooms ranges as RM 75/pax/night and up and also it would depend on the number of pax sharing rooms.

Things to Do - Because this island is closer to the mainland, do not expect crystal clear water like in Tioman, or Perhentian but despite this fact snorkelling and swimming in the sea won't turn you into radioactive man. Just that there is less to see underwater. But this island is smack in the middle of all the beautiful smaller islands, Island hopping the perfect choice.
*They have a marine park museum and turtle hatchery for those who are more cultured.

Fishing - This place offers a variety of fishing trips, from chartering a boat for offshore 2D/1N to half a day fishing trips. But all in all it is a good fishing spot for you Fish-a-holics

Food - Besides the food offered by the hotel and chalets, there is not much to talk about here. But then again, we have great chefs among us right? and not to foget great fishermen.
